Color Story Beats the Pandemic

Color Story sponsored a contest last year to pair artists with poems by selected poets. Artist Marlo Saucedo completed a wonderful painting inspired by “Dawn Snow”, one of my Yosemite poems. I’m most pleased to share her accomplishment with you! An event, much delayed by the pandemic, to share all the poems and paintings will be held in Houston, Texas at the Spring Street Studios.

Used Poems

My “Dawn Snow” was published a few years ago in Avocet, a small but excellent poetry journal.  I was pleased but also saddened.  I realized that this poem, a personal favorite, would be consigned to the immense scrap heap of published poems.  Once a poem loses its print virginity, it’s no longer acceptable to any publication in the known universe, except one.  Ralph Murre’s Little Eagle’s RE/VERSE just published “Dawn Snow” and a picture taken by photographer son Jon.  Here’s the link:   http://littleeaglereverse.blogspot.com/
